Used for large cold brew coffee, works well.

Had issues using alternatives such as cheesecloth for cold brew as it never filtered out all the grounds.
This bag is high thread count and easy to clean. Recommend if you’re looking to copy that Starbucks quality without using wasteful one use filters.

Used it today in a 5 gal batch of beer and it worked perfectly for getting the hops and barley out of the brew at the end. Turned inside out, it cleaned easily and set out in the sun, dried fast. Seems it will hold up for some time as well, very happy!

I want to return it after using it. Xl size is way too big for my 2.5-6 gallon brews. If I were to need a bag this large for my hops, I’d have zero left for the mash. Unfortunately I used this for a Bohemian Pilsner and Hefeweizen partigyle. The inefficiency left me with OG’s of 1.041 and 1.038, well below targets of 1.049-1.058. It also took too long to filter our boiled apple musts for cider. We had to buy nylon bags. I like the bag, but I think cotton and the tight weave didn’t work at all for us.

I've been brewing larger batches of cold brew (with 2.5 lb bags from the local warehouse store). Could easily fit double (or triple) in the bag. The mesh of the material is sufficiently fine enough to separate all the fine particles and most of the sludge from the water. After removing grounds I filtered through a very fine metal mesh coffee filter and barely caught any additional particles.
